Who We Are
Our lodge is rooted in a love of nature and a commitment to hard work and caring for both our family and the families who visit us.
John Niel
John is a retired USCG rescue swimmer who is always willing to lend a helping hand, and goes above and beyond to ensure the happiness, safety, and well-being of everyone around him. As a dedicated father, John takes great pride in his role as a parent and works tirelessly to provide for his family.
In his free time, John is an avid outdoor enthusiast and can often be found exploring the rugged beauty of the Alaskan wilderness. He enjoys fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with his family in nature. Despite his many accomplishments and impressive skills as a rescue swimmer, John remains humble and down-to-earth, always eager to share a laugh or a good story.
Sarah Harrington
Sarah is the heart and matriarch of her family, rooted in Alaska Native traditions and dedicated to raising her children with curiosity, creativity, and strong values. She leads her family with warmth and intention, encouraging open-mindedness, artistic expression, and a love of learning.
When sheβs not guiding her family, Sarah pours her energy into her communityβvolunteering in schools and at local events, inspiring others through her involvement. She also makes time for her own passions: staying active, reading and listening to podcasts, making art, and exploring ideas that feed her creativity and perspective on life. Every day, she blends her love of family, community, and personal growth into the life she shares with those around her.
